It is the Mission of the Sacramento Office of the Regional Community Policing Institute - California to provide quality training in community policing and in police ethics and integrity, and to provide technical assistance to law enforcement, community members and local governments.

The Office of Community Oriented Policing Services, U.S. Department of Justice funded the creation of a national training network of Regional Community Policing Institutes (RCPIs) in 1997 to provide comprehensive and innovative policing education, training and technical assistance.

Since 1997 RCPI - California in Sacramento has provided training and resources to law enforcement agencies, communities, and local governments within.

RCPI - California in Sacramento develops innovative curricula on emerging law enforcement issues to challenge and improve traditional training curricula. RCPI - California in Sacramento has trained more than 5,000 California officers, community members, and government leaders in innovative approaches to Community Policing. These approaches include:

• Community Preparedness • Problem Solving
• Community Partnerships • Outdoor Community Policing
• Ethics and Integrity • Violence Prevention
• Neighborhood Revitalization • Volunteers in Policing

RCPI - California in Sacramento strives to incorporate the principles of adult learning within the courses presented. Learning activities are designed to engage students and to stimulate their interest in learning and retaining new information. RCPI - California is committed to providing quality, innovative training and technical assistance to the agencies, communities and governments served.
