As an independent 501(c) (3) charitable, non-profit organization, the Foundation provides the opportunities for the police department to build stronger relationships with the citizens it serves. Meaningful departmental programs that encourage employees to be their best are combined with a variety of community programs that develop closer relationships with citizens. The end result: a collaborative effort between the local communities and the police department in the shared desire for a safer city. The Foundation provides a vehicle through which citizens and businesses can do their part to help provide the resources for programs that will enhance the ability of our men and women in blue to prevent and reduce crime while promoting dialogue between the community and law enforcement personnel. The programs funded by the Foundation touch the lives of many, from young to old. The Foundation partners with community programs such as Kops-n-Kids, Holiday Giving, Criminal Justice Magnet Academy, and the Pedals program. http://www.sacpolicefoundation.org
