The 2012 Crew Bios

At first glance, you might assume the toughest part of racing a bicycle across the United States is…well…racing a bicycle across the United States! I think you would be wrong. While the riders certainly have a challenge ahead of them, the challenges of crewing this event may be more daunting. The riders will work hard for 3 hours a day. The crew will work hard for upwards of 20 hours a day. As a veteran of the race said, the crew members are either getting a few hours sleep or working, there is no “off duty”. While those that volunteered for Team SAC PD have day to day jobs of police officers, EMT’s, and police administrators, their new roles will be everything from mechanics, masseuse, therapist, nutritionist, and photographers. Team SAC PD would certainly have no chance of success without this great collection of people.
